study questions

1.Danticat uses a number of different narrators to tell the story so show different points of view and to give different characters voices or lack of a voice. They affect the readers in different ways because you get to look at them from their point of view, you get to see their oppressions from their view not someone else that observed them.

2. I think Danticat started the book with Ka's father's confession because it got the reader hooked and gave a lot of background information. It starts with his first crime and more and more of his crimes come out throughout the book, ending with his last crime kind of put an end to his crimes and the story all at once.

3. Their stories add different feelings into the book, different themes are introduced with each story. They introduce themes of forgivness, love, family, and many other themes that go along with the story of the "Dew Breaker"
